Pastor and Laity in Leadership

Praying For My Pastor(s):
  • Pray with thanksgiving for the gifts and graces God has given my pastor
  • Ask God to fill you with His love for my Becky
  • Pray that my pastor would be all that God desires of him/her

The following scriptural prayers give you a starting point for your intercession:

  • To be a faithful shepherd of the flock, eager to serve. (I Peter 5:2-3)
  • To have wisdom. (James 1:5; Ps. 32:8; Is. 11:2)
  • Pray for a hedge of protection around my pastor and his/her family for protection. Speak directly against discouragement and burnout in ministry.  (Ps. 91; Eph. 6:10-18; Ps. 138:7)
  • Thank God for choosing my pastor and appointing him/her to be my spiritual leader. Pray that his/her ministry would bear fruit that endures.  (John 15:16)
  • Pray for a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit, a refilling of God’s love, and a fresh call to preaching. (Acts 1:8; Acts 13:52; Rom. 5:5; I Cor. 2:4-5)
  • Pray a blessing over my pastor. (III John 1:2; Deut. 33:12)
Praying For The Believers:
  • Pray that each church leader, committee, and ministry team will focus on prayer
  • Pray that the believers will discover, learn about, and use their spiritual gifts
  • Pray that God will be glorified in everything they do
  • Pray that each ministry will be God inspired, directed, and led
  • Pray that people will become Christians and grow spiritually as a result of each ministry
  • Pray that each ministry will make a difference in the lives of
    • The leadership.
    • The people ministered with/to.
    • The congregation.
    • The community where the church is located.
