Praying for the Salvation of Friends, Family and Neighbors
Effective prayer for the lost (people who are not Christians) impacts God, people, and Satan. You are praying to God for the benefit of a person and in opposition to everything Satan is doing to prevent the person’s coming to salvation. Pray in faith for the salvation of those for whom you are burdened! Be sensitive as the Holy Spirit gives direction to pray and persist in praise.
- Affirm that God can do the impossible;
- Thank God that He desires all to be saved;
- Thank God for His gift of salvation;
- Claim the person by name;
- Pray that this person will seek to know God as the Holy Spirit works in him/her;
- Pray that this person will confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and turn from sin;
- Pray that this person will yield all to follow Jesus and grow in Him.
